This device can seem a little scary at first, but Dybo Boy says there is nothing to fear - the blood glucose pricker is here! Unlike the blood glucose monitor, the blood pricker works by making a tiny prick in your finger and testing your glucose levels using the little scratch the machine creates. This piece of tech is oftentimes a lot more accurate than a blood glucose monitor, and you may be asked by your diabetes team to do a blood prick before your check-up.

Dybo Boy was frightened at first when he was told he would have to use a blood pricker, but he realised there was nothing to be scared of. It doesn’t hurt one bit! Dybo Boy likes using the blood pricker to give him a more accurate reading of his levels.
